The second deck line, known as the “flying-shear” runs continuously. Its cutting unit travels alongside the material, making cuts while the production line continues at 200 ft/min.
This process enhances our productivity, keeping up with high demand while maintaining quality. Both mills are operated by skilled technicians who monitor every detail, ensuring each deck meets stringent standards.

Hector, our production supervisor, verifies dimensions, including gauge (thickness), profile, and width, to make sure each coil meets CSM’s strict standards.
He checks width tolerance and confirms the correct tagging on each coil, all while documenting the measurements to ensure a consistent quality record. This thorough process sets us apart by ensuring that every product meets our high standards before it’s shipped to our customers.
