Developed by Garfield Public Private and entrusted to BOKA Powell and design-builder DPR Construction, the Hyatt Regency Hotel & Convention Center project on Bayland Island along the Houston Ship Channel set out to redefine hospitality. The project encompassed approximately 43,000 square feet of ballroom and meeting space, complete with a separate arrival area for conference guests and ride-sharing services.
The hotel itself featured a lobby bar, a three-meal restaurant with an exposition kitchen and private dining area, fitness facilities, a pool, and an expansive amenity deck. Bayland Island also boasted a marina and ship’s store, with parking facilitated by a surface lot connecting the hotel, conference center, and marina.
